The Lance Armstrong Foundation, founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, inspires and empowers people with cancer via education, advocacy, and public health and research programs.

In August 2007, LiveStrong Army Tampa was the very first local army founded in support of the Lance Armstrong Foundation to raise awareness, fundraise, support and advocate on behalf of the LAF's global policy agenda in our community.
